Minister Congratulates Students and Educators on Another Successful School Year

The Honourable Derrick Dalley, Acting Minister of Education, is congratulating students, educational professionals and parents on the completion of another successful school year.

�This has been another great year for students in our province as they continue to excel and grow academically and personally. I would like to congratulate those who are graduating. Your hard work and determination has paid off and I wish you all the best with your future endeavors. For students returning to school in September, have a safe and enjoyable summer and I hope you return next year with a renewed focus on academic excellence.�

Minister Dalley also thanked volunteer school board trustees and district staff at the Newfoundland and Labrador English School District and the Conseil scolaire francophone provincial, school council members and parents for the essential roles they play in the education and lives of students.

�Administrators, educational professionals, school staff and parents all play key roles in enhancing learning opportunities for students. I want to thank all of them for their hard work. They are mentors to our students and essential in helping them reach their full potential.�

The Provincial Government is committed to providing an educational environment that prepares students for lifelong learning and future academic and career opportunities. Budget 2015 includes approximately $926 million for K-12 education and early childhood development in Newfoundland and Labrador.
