Media Advisory: Parliamentary Secretary to Speak at the Launch of Career Awareness Initiative

Tom Hedderson, Parliamentary Secretary to the Honourable Susan Sullivan, Minister of Education and Early Childhood Development, will speak at the launch of the Electricity Industry Career Awareness Initiative tomorrow (Wednesday, March 18). The event will take place at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Spirit High School, 2694 Topsail Road, Conception Bay South.

Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro and Newfoundland Power are leading an initiative to target young adults, 15 to 30 years of age, to increase awareness of career opportunities in the electricity industry. The program includes a website which provides information about the electricity industry in Newfoundland and Labrador, and curriculum resources for use in the high school courses Career Development, Skilled Trades and Power and Energy.
