Media Advisory: Minister to Attend Roots of Empathy Event

The Honourable Sandy Collins, Minister of Child, Youth and Family Services, will attend a ceremony on Monday, May 25, to acknowledge and thank this year�s participants in the Roots of Empathy program. The event will take place at the Eastern School District Conference Centre, 40 Strawberry Marsh Road, St. John�s, beginning at 3:30 p.m.

Roots of Empathy programming is designed to build caring, peaceful and civil societies through the development of empathy in children and adults. As part of the program, an infant and parent visit a classroom nine times in a school year, to engage students in discussing their feelings and experiences as they get to know the baby.
