Investing in Strategic Development to Strengthen Communities

$104,000 Supports Argentia Management Authority's Development Plan

The Argentia Management Authority, with the support of a $104,000 investment from the Provincial Government, is better positioned to undertake business development initiatives to expand its operations and contribute to the growth of the regional economy.

"In order for communities to grow and prosper, they need sustainable infrastructure that supports current and future needs. I am confident that this investment will help the authority with the funding required to ensure that the Port of Argentia continues to be a strong economic driver, and situated to take advantage of future opportunities in the mining and offshore industries. Developments of this nature are essential to support business development and diversification of the economy."
- The Honourable Darin King, Minister of Business, Tourism, Culture and Rural Development

The Argentia Management Authority owns and manages the Port of Argentia and 3,000 acres of developed land adjacent to the port, which is ready for commercial and industrial use. Provincial Government funding will be used to hire professionals to complete the Argentia Northside Development Plan. Additional information on the authority can be found by visiting: www.argentia.ca.

"Argentia has tremendous potential to be a significant industrial centre for the province. The Argentia Management Authority has played a leading role in its development so far and this investment by the Provincial Government will be of great assistance as they move forward with their strategic plan for the port."
- The Honourable Felix Collins, Attorney General and MHA for Placentia - St Mary's

We are grateful for support of our government partner in helping us to carry out these important projects."
