Media Advisory: Minister to Attend Internal Trade Renewal Ministers’ Meeting

The Honourable Darin King, Minister of Business, Tourism, Culture and Rural Development, will attend the Internal Trade Renewal Ministers’ Meeting in Toronto tomorrow (Tuesday, June 9). The Provincial Government will fully participate in the round of internal trade negotiations being held from June 9 to 12.

At their 2014 summer meeting, Canada’s Premiers agreed to undertake a comprehensive renewal of the Agreement on Internal Trade (AIT), using the existing AIT and considering the desire to ensure more consistency with modern international trade agreements. The AIT aims to reduce and eliminate barriers to the free movement of persons, goods, services and investments across Canada.
