In collaboration with our industry partners, we are starting the road construction season earlier this year and beginning work as soon as possible to fully utilize the province’s construction season. With $30 million already pre-committed to this year’s roads budget, we are off to a great start, which will benefit those who use the provincial highway system.”

The tender, which was announced by Minister McGrath in Heart’s Content, includes the rehabilitation of approximately five kilometres of Route 74, Hearts Content Barrens; approximately one kilometre of Route 80 at New Melbourne; approximately two kilometres of Route 70 near Perry’s Cove; 1.7 kilometre of Route70-37, Perry’s Cove Road; and, approximately one kilometre of levelling asphalt in Bay de Verde.

“I am very pleased that improvements will be made to these well-travelled routes in Trinity - Bay de Verde. The issuance of early tenders will see the work start early in year benefiting residents and visitors alike as soon as possible.”
- The Honourable Charlene Johnson, Minister of Finance and MHA for Trinity - Bay de Verde
