Sport Newfoundland and Labrador - Basketball Association Elects New President
The Newfoundland and Labrador Basketball Association (NLBA) elected a new president at its AGM held this past weekend. Tom Warren of St. John’s was elected president replacing Dave Constantine who did not seek re-election.
Other members of the Executive Board are Doreen Pond - Vice President, Karen Adams - Policy Director, Roger Head - Secretary/Treasurer, Tony Oliver - Coaching Development Director, Bob White - Senior Director and Jason Thompson - Minor Director.
NLBA awards were presented to the following:
- Elite Coach of the Year - Erica Kennedy - 2013 Canada Games Men’s Head Coach - St. John’s;
- Minor Male Coach of the Year - Ryan Chaulk - Xavier Junior High-Deer Lake;
- Minor Female Coach of the Year - Katie Vinnicombe - St. John Bosco - St. John’s;
- Achievement Awards: Colleen Hogan of St. John’s; Frank Foo and Chantal Rochon of Corner Brook; and
- President’s Award - Tom Stewart - Corner Brook.
