The Honourable Derrick Dalley, Minister of Natural Resources and Minister Responsible for the Forestry and Agrifoods Agency, was in Lewisporte today with Wade Verge, MHA for Lewisporte, to announce the winners of a provincial forestry poster contest held as part of National Forest Week celebrations.

“All students who contributed to the contest are to be commended for their work, which clearly illustrates an appreciation for the forest. We thank the teachers for taking the time to organize this activity and for encouraging students to participate. The forest sector plays an important economic, social and cultural role in the lives of many people in this province. In addition to the economic contributions provided by our forests, in this province we enjoy many outdoor pursuits that enhance our quality of life and make good forest management in everyone’s best interest.”
