Families and Seniors Benefit from Health Care Investments

Government Invests Approximately $370,000 in the Dr. Leonard A. Miller Centre

Residents, staff and visitors of the Dr. Leonard A. Miller Centre in St. John’s will benefit from nearly $370,000 for new equipment and infrastructure upgrades.

Through an allocation of $268,800, the centre will replace 30 beds and install a bathing system for rehabilitation and continuing care. An additional investment of $100,000 will be used to improve the centre’s parking area, including increasing the capacity through a small extension.

Since 2004, the Provincial Government has invested nearly $1.5 billion in health care infrastructure. Budget 2014: Shared Prosperity, Fair Society, Balanced Outlook includes a total investment of over $189 million in infrastructure which allocates $119 million for continuing construction and redevelopment, $50.5 million for new equipment and $20 million for repairs and renovations.
