Responsible Infrastructure Investments Strengthen Communities, Support Families

New Health Care Infrastructure Enhancing Services in All Regions

Ensuring access to modern and new health care facilities and equipment continues to be a priority for the Provincial Government. This is demonstrated by the more than 30 health care infrastructure projects that have been completed or are under development in all regions of the province over the past 10 years, including 12 anticipated to be completed in 2014.  
 
“Since 2004, our government has invested more than $1.2 billion to enhance health care infrastructure through new facilities, upgrades and repairs to current buildings and for new equipment. Currently there are 20 projects ongoing throughout Newfoundland and Labrador with 12 of these expected to be completed and open in 2014. The investments we have made in health infrastructure will ensure that families in rural and urban communities continue to have access to top-quality health care services.”

Over the past year, three projects were completed in the communities of Lewisporte, Glovertown and Corner Brook:
