Media Advisory: Premier to Open Newfoundland and Labrador Winter Games
The Honourable Tom Marshall, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, will speak at the opening ceremonies of the 2014 Newfoundland and Labrador Winter Games tomorrow (Saturday, March 1).
The event will take place at the Clarenville Events Centre, at 7:00 p.m., with the Premier speaking at approximately 7:30 p.m.
Athletes from all areas of the province, ages 11-18, compete in a range of sports at the Newfoundland and Labrador Games, which are held every two years, alternating winter and summer, and coordinated by the Department of Tourism, Culture and Recreation in conjunction with Sport Newfoundland and Labrador and provincial sports organizations.
