Tomorrow is Polling Day in St. George’s - Stephenville East
Elections Newfoundland and Labrador would like to notify qualified electors in the district of St. George’s - Stephenville East that the by-election will take place tomorrow (Tuesday, August 26.) The polls will be open from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.
To find out where to vote, electors should:
- Check the Elections Newfoundland and Labrador website (where electors can search for their voting locations using their street names) - www.elections.gov.nl.ca;
- Refer to their Voter Information Cards, circulated to registered electors in the mail by Elections Newfoundland and Labrador;
- Call the district Returning Office at 647-3432; or
- Call Elections Newfoundland and Labrador toll-free at 1-877-729-7987.
Elections Newfoundland and Labrador will release the preliminary results of the by-election as they are received from the district, beginning at 8:00 p.m. when the polls close. Those preliminary results will be posted live on the Elections Newfoundland and Labrador website.
When all the results have been received, Elections Newfoundland and Labrador will issue a news release with the total preliminary results.
The Official Addition of the Votes will take place at the district Returning Office, beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, August 29. After the Official Addition has concluded, the by-election results will be considered official.
