Celebrating Families through Christmas Lights Across Canada

60,000 Bulbs Will Illuminate Confederation Building and Prince Phillip Parkway

The annual Christmas tree lighting at Confederation Hill in St. John’s will take place tomorrow (Thursday, December 5) as part of the 2013 Christmas Lights Across Canada celebrations.

“Celebrations are taking place in capital cities across the country and the Government of Newfoundland Labrador is proud to invite members of the public to take part in this annual event. Together with family and friends our community will celebrate the beginning of the festive season.”

The festivities will begin at 6:15 p.m. and will feature a variety of special guests, including the Roncalli Elementary School Choir, the Royal Newfoundland Regiment Band, and radio host Mitch Colbourne from 99.1 HITS FM. Refreshments will follow in the main lobby of the Confederation Building.

The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador is committed to supporting important social programs, strong communities and the health and well-being of children, families and seniors.
