Public Advisory: Incident on Northern Ranger Causes Delay in Service

The Department of Transportation and Works advises that the crew of the MV Northern Ranger responded to a small electrical fire this afternoon (Monday, August 19) as pre-departure checks were being conducted prior to leaving Happy Valley-Goose Bay. The fire was quickly extinguished. All passengers were safely assembled at fire stations, as per standard procedure, and there were no injuries.

The MV Northern Ranger has cancelled service for today and arrangements for repairs are being made. CAI Nunatsiavut Marine Inc. will provide further updates as they become available.
