Public Advisory: Incident on Northern Ranger Resolved with
No Interruption in Service Expected

The Department of Transportation and Works advises that the crew of the MV Northern Ranger responded to a fire today (Wednesday, July 10) in the port shaft generator, while enroute to Nain. The fire was extinguished. All passengers were safely assembled at fire stations, as per standard procedure, and there were no injuries.

The MV Northern Ranger continued enroute to Nain and the contracted operator of the vessel, CAI Nunatsiavut Marine Inc. (CNM), does not anticipate an interruption in service. CNM will provide further updates as necessary.
