Minister Comments on OHS Charges

The Honourable Paul Davis, Minister of Transportation and Works, today commented on charges laid against the Department of Transportation and Works under the Occupational Health and Safety Act. The charges are related to a vehicle-pedestrian collision that occurred on the Outer Ring Road on July 5, 2011.

“This collision claimed the life of a long-serving and respected employee of the Department of Transportation and Works and resulted in serious injuries to two other individuals,” said Minister Davis. “This collision has had a significant impact on the individuals involved, their families, friends and co-workers.”

The department will respect the legal process that will take place as a result of these charges and let that process unfold.
