Province Celebrates National Sports Day

Tomorrow (Saturday, November 30) is Sports Day in Canada and Newfoundland and Labrador will be an active participant with various activities and events taking place throughout the province over the next few days.

“On National Sports Day and every day, the Provincial Government is committed to actively encouraging participation by all Newfoundlanders and Labradorians in physical activity, sport and recreation. Being involved in any form of physical activity is a great way to stay in shape, have fun and create a sense of community. I encourage all residents to check out some of the great events that have been organized for this spirited community initiative. There are many ways we can get active in our daily lives such as being involved in an organized sport, or simply going for a walk.”

Sports Day in Canada is the national celebration of sport bringing together communities, organizations and schools at the local level to promote and encourage involvement in sport and physical activity.
