"Since 2009, this program has been supporting community organizations in their effort to provide a variety of engaging recreational programming to our senior residents. The main goal of this program is to provide opportunities for older residents to become more physically active and, just as importantly, to become more involved in community recreational activities, ultimately improving their overall well-being."
- The Honourable Terry French, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Recreation
The deadline to submit an application is December 23, 2013. The Seniors Community Recreation Grant Program is delivered in collaboration with the Department of Health and Community Services.
"It is our government’s vision to build age-friendly communities where residents of all ages can live energetic and healthy lives. This initiative supports that vision by providing community organizations with an important opportunity to engage older adults and encourage them to participate in social and recreational activities in their communities."
- The Honourable Susan Sullivan, Minister of Health and Community Services and Minister Responsible for Aging and Seniors
