Canada Summer Games Baseball Team Preparing for Upcoming Games

Newfoundland and Labrador's Canada Summer Games baseball team, the Terra Novas, will participate in in training sessions throughout the week at St. Pat's Ball Park in St. John's. The team will then host the Prince Edward Island Canada Games baseball team during the July 5-7 weekend. The teams will play five games with the opening game at 1:00 p.m. on Friday at St. Pat's Ball Park. The teams will also play 11:00 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Saturday at St. Pat's, as well as 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on Sunday at the Smallwood Drive Field in Mount Pearl.

The Terra Novas will continue preparations for the August 3-10 Canada Summer Games in Sherbrooke, Quebec, when they travel to compete July 17-21 in a Pre-Canada Games tournament in Miramichi, New Brunswick, which will feature all four Atlantic Provinces Canada Games teams.

The Terra Novas players are Daniel Humber, Michael McWhirter and Travis Taylor of Corner Brook; Adam Pardy of Grand Falls-Windsor; Matthew Flynn, Shane Barnes, and Colton Collins of Gander; Zach Coombs and Bradley Riggs of Upper Island Cove; Tyler Hennessey and Bradley Porter of Conception Bay South; Colin Hunt of Mount Pearl; Andrew Paul, Redmond Hunt, Randy Reid, Parker Gulliver, Zack Fitzpatrick, Dylan MacKenzie, and Matt Murphy of St.John's. The team's staff consist of head coach Sean Gulliver of St. John's, assistant coaches Frank Humber of Corner Brook and Mark Healy of St. John's, and manager Brian Fitzpatrick of St. John's.
