The following is being distributed at the request of Sport Newfoundland and Labrador:

Grade 10 Provincial Basketball Championships Taking Place

The Newfoundland and Labrador Basketball Association will be hosting 28 teams this weekend, April 19-22, in five provincial competitions throughout the province in the Grade 10 age group. The East Coast Boys A Provincials will feature eight teams at O’Donel High in Mount Pearl while the B event will be played at Baltimore High in Ferryland with five teams entered. Gonzaga of St. John’s will host the five team Girls A event while Mobile plays host to the five teams entered in the B division.

On the west coast, Exploits Valley High will host the girls championships with five teams competing for the title.

Play gets under way on Friday afternoon and will conclude with the championship games Saturday evening or Sunday morning. For a complete list of all teams and schedules please visit the NLBA website at www.nlba.nf.ca or contact the provincial office at 709-576-0247.
