Provincial Basketball Championships Coming this Weekend

The Newfoundland and Labrador Basketball Association (NLBA) will be hosting 24 teams this weekend, March 8-10, in four provincial competitions throughout the province.

The East Coast Grade Eight A Boys Provincials will feature five teams at Brother Rice Junior High in St. John’s, while the “B” division has eight teams vying for the championship at Leary’s Brook Junior High in St. John’s.

On the west coast, Lewisporte Intermediate will host six teams in the Grade Eight Boys championship while Immaculate Heart of Mary in Corner Brook will be hosting the five team Grade Five Girls championship.

Play gets under way on Friday afternoon, March 8, and will conclude with the championship games Saturday evening or Sunday morning. For a complete list of all teams and schedules please visit the NLBA website at www.nlba.nf.ca or contact the provincial office at 709-576-0247.
