Grade Seven Provincial Hoop Championships Begin This Weekend

The Newfoundland and Labrador Basketball Association will be hosting 35 teams in the Grade Seven Universal Corporate Wear Provincials this weekend, March 1 to 3, in five regions of the province.

The West Coast Girls event will feature seven teams at New World Island Academy in Summerford. On the East Coast, Cowan Heights of St. John’s will host the six teams in the Girls A Division, while Leary’s Brook, also in St. John’s, will host the eight team B event.

The boys A division has six teams entered and will be played at Brother Rice in St. John’s while Holy Trinity of Torbay will host the eight team B Division.

Play gets under way on Friday afternoon and will conclude with the championship games Saturday evening or Sunday morning.
