Provincial Hoop Teams Travel to Ontario

Three female provincial basketball teams are off to Ontario for competition this weekend, February 8-10. The Ladies Canada Games Program will compete in Hamilton in the 30th Annual Transway Festival. These ambitious athletes will compete in the U19 division even though they are seventeen years old.

In addition, two teams from the Midget Girls High Performance Program will travel to Toronto this weekend to compete in the 2013 HoopDome Tournament. Both teams have been training for the past eight months hoping to make the final roster that will represent the province at the 2013 National Championships slated for Newfoundland and Labrador.

All three teams will depart Thursday and return on Sunday evening. Play gets underway Friday and will conclude Sunday afternoon.
