Media Advisory: Minister to Participate in Opening Ceremonies of
Atlantic Boccia Championships

The Honourable Terry French, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Recreation, will participate in the opening ceremonies for the 2013 Atlantic Boccia Championships tomorrow (Saturday, January 19) at 9:00 a.m. at the Newfoundland and Labrador Sports Centre, 90 Crosbie Road, St. John’s.

Boccia is a Paralympic sport that is a cross between lawn bowling and curling, and is played in an indoor gym with leather balls. Easter Seals NL is organizing this event, which will be the first ever Atlantic Boccia Championship held in the region.
