Arts and Culture Centres Begin 2013 with a Variety of Great Shows

The six Arts and Culture Centres throughout Newfoundland and Labrador are kicking off 2013 with exciting performance schedules for winter and spring, each featuring diverse shows that will appeal to many different audiences.

“Over the next few months these stages will play host to comedy, dance, music, theatre, symphony and more,” said the Honourable Terry French, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Recreation. “Show schedules will feature exceptional local talent and some of the best performers from beyond our borders as we begin 2013, so be sure to get your tickets early.”

As one of the biggest events of the year, music lovers will be treated to a collection of one-of-a-kind experiences involving national and international artists who will come to the province for Festival 500: Sharing the Voices. This renowned biennial choral festival has brought choral musicians from around the world together to celebrate the international language of music since 1997, and will continue its storied history of unforgettable performances from July 3 to 10.

The Provincial Government has invested more than $56 million into the arts, culture and heritage sectors since the launch of its cultural strategy Creative Newfoundland and Labrador: The Blueprint for Development and Investment in Culture in 2006.
