Minister Warns Against the Dangers of Fraud
Newfoundlanders and Labradorians are encouraged to remain cautious when providing personal information online, while shopping, or when considering investment transactions.
“People are very busy this time of the year and with the rush to get
presents and other items they can sometimes let their guard down. Identity
theft, consumer and investment fraud are very real threats and there have
been cases where people have lost significant amounts of money. The best
form of defence against scams of any kind is education and awareness.”
- The Honourable Dan Crummell, Minister of Service NL
