Public Advisory: Planned Service Outage for Vital Statistics Computer System

Service NL wishes to advise the public of a planned service outage for the Vital Statistics computer system for tomorrow (Friday, January 11). The reason for the outage is to finalize upgrades to the computer system which will also facilitate the sharing of information for bundled birth services with the Federal Government and other provincial departments as announced earlier this week.

As a result, services such as the printing of birth, marriage and death certificates will be temporarily unavailable, although applications will still be accepted at Government Service Centres around the province and processed as soon as possible. Over the counter services are expected to be available again on Monday, January 14. Service NL apologizes for any inconvenience this computer changeover may cause.
