Muskrat Falls Transforms Newfoundland and Labrador into a Clean Energy Leader and Positions Province for Long-term Prosperity
Labrador-Island Transmission Link Released from Federal Environmental Assessment
The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador applauded today’s release of the Labrador-Island Transmission Link from the Government of Canada’s environmental assessment process.
“Muskrat Falls represents the next step in Newfoundland and Labrador’s
energy future and today’s announcement represents yet another important
milestone that has been achieved. As a major source of renewable electricity
generation, the project will deliver power to meet future demand in the
province, while ensuring stable electricity rates for generations to come
along with a wealth of economic and employment opportunities for
Newfoundlanders and Labradorians.”

The federal environmental assessment of the Labrador-Island Transmission Link was conducted by the Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency.
