Media Advisory: Minister to Participate in Municipalities Newfoundland and Labrador Convention

The Honourable Steve Kent, Minister of Municipal and Intergovernmental Affairs, will participate in the 63rd annual Municipalities Newfoundland and Labrador Convention and Trade Show. The convention takes place November 7-9 in St. John’s.

Minister Kent will participate in a number of events during the convention:

• He will speak at the opening ceremonies tomorrow (Thursday, November 7) at 6:30 p.m. at the St. John’s Convention Centre.
• Minister Kent will present an update on the ongoing implementation of province wide basic 911 service on Friday, November 8 at 8:30 a.m. at the St. John’s Convention Centre.
• He will also participate in the Tidy Towns awards ceremony and luncheon at 12:45 p.m. on Friday, November 8 at the St. John’s Convention Centre.
• Minister Kent will speak at the Municipalities Newfoundland and Labrador Annual General Meeting at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 9 at the Delta Hotel, Salon A.
• He will also speak at the Urban Municipalities Meeting at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 9 at the Delta Hotel, Salons E, F and G.

Several other cabinet ministers will also attend various sessions during the three day convention.
