Public Advisory: Update Regarding Areas Impacted by Recent Flooding

The general public is advised that emergency repairs have been completed on known washout areas on forest access roads in eastern and central Newfoundland affected by the recent heavy rainfall, although repairs are temporary and are in place to allow residents to leave the affected areas. Access may change at any time based on the degradation of these temporary repairs by future rainfall or road usage. The general public is advised to avoid the Mint Brook Road, North West Gander Road, and Jumpers Brook Road areas until permanent repairs are concluded.

Repairs to the Bay d’Espoir Highway Route 360 are also ongoing. The road is open to all traffic; however, drivers are reminded to use extreme caution as crews continue their work. Department of Transportation and Works crew are anticipated to be on site for the next few days.
