$70,000 Announced in Funding for Arena Upgrades in Roddickton-Bide Arm
Healthy lifestyles and recreation opportunities are important ways to build
better communities for families and children across the province. To support
these goals, the Provincial Government is investing $70,000 for the
upgrading of the arena in the Town of Roddickton-Bide Arm.
“It is important that we properly maintain our recreational facilities, to
ensure that they can continue to be gathering places for our communities,”
said the Honourable Kevin O’Brien, Minister of Municipal Affairs. “Being
active and living a healthy lifestyle is important for the good health and
well being of residents, and this is why the government is providing the
town with $70,000 to complete work at the arena.”
Funding being provided for this project will cover work being completed on
the interior of the arena, as well as the installation of vinyl siding.
This project is cost-shared with the Provincial Government providing 90 per
cent of the funding and the Town of Roddickton-Bide Arm covering the
remaining 10 per cent.
Budget 2013: A Sound Plan, A Secure Future includes funding for the second
year of a $130 million municipal capital works program. This investment is
funding important infrastructure projects for towns and cities, and is
delivering better services for families in areas such as water and waste
water, recreation, road repair, and fire services, across the province.
