Media Advisory: Ministers to Participate in
Municipalities Newfoundland and Labrador Symposium
Two Cabinet Ministers will participate in the Municipalities Newfoundland and Labrador Symposium, which began yesterday (Thursday, May 9) and will conclude Saturday, May 11. Events are taking place in Gander at Hotel Gander and the Albatross Hotel.
The Honourable Kevin O’Brien, Minister of Municipal Affairs, will outline key highlights of Budget 2013: A Sound Plan, A Secure Future for cities and towns across the province, during a luncheon today (Friday, May 10) at 12:30 p.m. at Hotel Gander.
Also during the luncheon, the Honourable Tom Hedderson, Minister Responsible for the Office of Climate Change, Energy Efficiency and Emissions Trading, will unveil a new tool that will help municipalities understand the impact of their carbon footprint.
