Strengthening the Economy through Strategic Investments

Investment of $36,000 Supports Skills Development and Planning Initiatives

In support of initiatives that provide training and development opportunities for non-profit organizations, seven Newfoundland and Labrador groups will receive funding totalling $36,000. Funding will support community-based organizations to attend industry-specific planning sessions that will enhance employee and volunteer skill-sets through new training and skill development.

“Community and volunteer-based organizations are essential to sustaining and growing Newfoundland and Labrador’s economy, especially in rural areas. It is important that we invest in a range of industries and organizations which are working throughout the province to grow the local economy. This $36,000 investment supports development initiatives by providing organizations with the resources they need to grow and take advantage of opportunities and resources.”
- The Honourable Charlene Johnson, Minister of Innovation, Business and Rural Development

Funding supports training and planning sessions for the seven organizations to advance economic and business development. A list of organizations receiving funding can be found in the backgrounder below.
