Media Advisory: Minister to Provide Update on PET/CT Scanner Project

The Honourable Susan Sullivan, Minister of Health and Community Services, will join with Vickie Kaminski, President and CEO, Eastern Health; Dr. Peter Hollett, Clinical Chief, Nuclear Medicine, Eastern Health; and, Dr. James Rourke, Dean of Medicine, Memorial University, to provide an update on the new Molecular Imaging Program at Eastern Health and the installation of the Positron Emission Tomography – Computed Tomography (PET/CT) scanner and medical cyclotron.

The announcement will take place tomorrow (Thursday, July 11) at 10:00 a.m. in room 2J618 /2J619 at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John’s.

Prior to the announcement, Eastern Health will hold a technical briefing for the media outlining the PET/CT scanner and cyclotron as well as the medical benefits of the technology. The briefing will take place at 9:00 a.m. in the same room.
