Program Report for Corner Brook Hospital Received and Under Review
The master program report for the new Corner Brook hospital, which will support the finalization of the design for the new facility, was received yesterday from Stantec and is currently under review by the Provincial Government.
“Our government is steadfast in its commitment to build a health care facility in the western region that will address the health care needs and demands in that region not just for now, but well into the future,” said the Honourable Susan Sullivan, Minister of Health and Community Services. “This master program report will offer important information as the project moves into the next phase. It ensures we do this properly, and as quickly and efficiently as possible.”
To date, contracts for site clearing and preparation work have been completed. Water and sewer has been extended to the site, the land has been shaped, and paving of Cpl. Pinksen Memorial Drive has been completed to provide access to the hospital.
“We are making progress in advancing the Corner Brook hospital project,” said the Honourable Paul Davis, Minister of Transportation and Works. “This report will help inform the next steps our government will make in seeing this project through to completion.”
The Provincial Government has invested approximately $20 million to date on the new hospital for the Corner Brook region.
