Responsible Decisions Strengthening a Vibrant Economy
CUPE Ratifies Collective Agreements With Provincial Government
The Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), representing approximately 4,300 employees, has ratified six of seven collective agreements with the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador.
“These agreements illustrate this government’s commitment to recognizing
the important contributions of the public service, while continuing to make
sound financial decisions on behalf of Newfoundlanders and Labradorians.”
- The Honourable Tom Marshall, Minister of Finance and President of
Treasury Board
The ratification vote for one group, the Provincial Information and Library Resources Board, is expected to be finalized in early December. The agreements share the same framework as that reached with the Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Public and Private Employees, and the Association of Allied Health Professionals.
Through sound fiscal management and responsible decisions, the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador is strengthening the business environment, encouraging the development of innovative industries and building a vibrant economy.
