AAHP Ratifies Collective Agreement With Provincial Government

The Association of Allied Health Professionals (AAHP), representing approximately 800 employees in the health care sector, has ratified a collective agreement with the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador.

The agreements share the same framework as that reached with the Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Public and Private Employees and the Canadian Union of Public Employees.

Through sound fiscal management and responsible decisions, the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador is strengthening the business environment, encouraging the development of innovative industries, and building a vibrant economy.

QUICK FACTS

• The Association of Allied Health Professionals has ratified a four-year collective agreement with the Provincial Government.
• The agreement includes a five per cent general economic increase over the term of the agreement, and a pro-rated signing bonus of $1,400 in year two.
• Substantial increases to shift differentials, and more than $10 per shift increase to standby pay are included in the agreement.
• Employees will benefit from an increase in travel per diems by approximately 20 per cent as part of the agreement.
