The Honourable Kathy Dunderdale, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, today announced the appointment of Ross Reid as her new Chief of Staff. The appointment is effective immediately. Mr. Reid replaces Brian Taylor who served in the position since 2010.
“The incredible leadership, expertise and knowledge that Ross Reid brings to this role are tremendous,” said Premier Dunderdale. “Mr. Reid’s background in both the Provincial and Federal Governments is a great asset as he takes on the role of Chief of Staff. Mr. Reid will play a key role in policy development as I continue my mandate as leader of the province. I look forward to working with Mr. Reid as we continue to secure a prosperous future for all Newfoundlanders and Labradorians.”

BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION
Ross Reid
Mr. Reid has most recently served as Deputy Minister Responsible for the Provincial Population Growth Strategy and will continue to play a leadership role in the development of the strategy. He also served as the Deputy Minister for the Voluntary and Non-Profit Sector with the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador. From November 2003 to January 2007, Mr. Reid served as Deputy Minister to the Premier. Prior to this, he was with the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs in Ukraine, Ghana, Kosovo, and Afghanistan. Mr. Reid has advised on and conducted democratic development programs in more than 25 countries in Asia, Africa and Europe with a focus on political parties, elections, parliaments and civil society. A former Member of Parliament and Cabinet minister representing Newfoundland and Labrador in the Government of Canada, Mr. Reid has served as Chief of Staff to the federal Minister of Finance and as advisor to the Prime Minister.
