Premier Announces Date for By-Election in District of Cartwright - L'Anse Au Clair
The Honourable Kathy Dunderdale, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, today announced that the by-election in the Cartwright - L'Anse Au Clair will be held Tuesday, June 25, 2013.
“I am pleased to announce that the residents of the District of Cartwright - L'Anse Au Clair will soon have an opportunity to vote and fulfill their civic duty,” said Premier Dunderdale. “On June 25, I encourage all residents of this district to exercise their franchise by voting and participating in this democratic process.”
The House of Assembly Act was amended in 2004 to ensure by-elections are announced within 60 days and conducted within 90 days of vacancy. The Cartwright - L'Anse Au Clair seat was vacated on April 8, 2013.
