Media Advisory: Minster to Participate in Events Commemorating Battle of the Atlantic

The Honourable Felix Collins, Minister for Intergovernmental and Aboriginal Affairs, will represent the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador at events commemorating the Battle of the Atlantic on Sunday, May 5, in St. John’s.

Minister Collins will attend the Battle of the Atlantic Service of Remembrance at St. Thomas’ Church, 8 Military Rd., at 10:30 a.m. and lay a wreath on behalf of the province at a commemoration ceremony at the National War Memorial on Water Street at 12:00 p.m.

The Battle of the Atlantic was the longest single campaign of World War II. Each year, on the first Sunday in May, Canada commemorates those lost during the battle.
