Media Advisory: Premier Dunderdale Joins Premiers of Alberta and Manitoba in Toronto to Lead Discussions on a National Energy Strategy with Provincial Energy Ministers
Today (Friday, April 19), the Honourable Kathy Dunderdale, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, will meet with Manitoba Premier Greg Selinger, Alberta Premier Alison Redford, and provincial and territorial Energy Ministers in Toronto to discuss ongoing work on the Canadian Energy Strategy.
“Responsible development of our energy resources is a key component of our national economy and I am pleased to have an opportunity to discuss a renewed national energy strategy with my fellow premiers and energy ministers,” said Premier Dunderdale. “A Canadian Energy Strategy will help ensure that new energy developments, like our own Muskrat Falls development, are supported by strong regional, national and international infrastructure. This strategy will position our country as a leader in sustainable and secure energy production, supply and transportation including East-West and Northern energy transmission.”
The premiers will be available to meet with media representatives following the meeting.
