Business Transformation Report Released
The Honourable Joan Shea, Minister of Advanced Education and Skills, today released the Business Transformation Report, authored by former Auditor General John Noseworthy, as a consultant for the department.
The Department of Advanced Education and Skills was created to help address labour demand and has a mandate to ensure Newfoundland and Labrador has the educated graduates and skilled workers needed for a fast-growing economy. The report is an exhaustive review of the department, with detailed suggestions on how to integrate, streamline and improve its many programs and services.
“Given the mandate of the new department, a comprehensive transformation plan is needed to ensure all departmental policies, programs and services are streamlined and best fitted to meet the growing labour demands of Newfoundland and Labrador,” said Minister Shea. “The report provides a very frank examination of the department that will help guide and inform our process of business transformation in the coming months. I would like to thank Mr. Noseworthy for his work, and all departmental staff who provided guidance and assistance throughout the process.”
