Environmental Assessment Bulletin

The Honourable Joan Shea, Minister of Environment and Conservation, has announced the following events relative to Part 10 Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act.

UNDERTAKING REGISTERED:

Indian River Cottage Development Plan                                     (Reg. 1729)
Proponent: Jacqueline Pelley

The undertaking consists of the development of five new cottage lots along the eastern side of Indian River on the Baie Verte Peninsula. The area is accessed by current cottage owners via the abandoned Trans Canada Highway, approximately 7.5 kilometres northeast of the Baie Verte Junction. The development is a joint effort among family members to secure cottage lots for leisure and recreation. Construction is scheduled for the summer of 2014.

The undertaking was registered on October 25, 2013; the deadline for public comments is November 29, 2013; and the minister’s decision is due by December 9, 2013.
