Environmental Assessment Bulletin

The Honourable Tom Hedderson, Minister of Environment and Conservation, has announced the following event relative to Part 10 Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act.

EIS and EIS ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ACCEPTED:

Labrador-Island Transmission Link (Reg. 1407)
Proponent: Nalcor Energy

A review has been completed of the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) submitted April 12, 2012, and the additional EIS information submitted December 10, 2012. These documents comply with Part X of the Environmental Protection Act (the Act) and the EIS Guidelines and Scoping Document dated May 2011, and require no further work. The Minister will now be recommending to the Lieutenant-Governor in Council whether or not this project can proceed as per Section 67 of the Act, subject to terms and conditions.
