Environmental Assessment Bulletin

The Honourable Tom Hedderson, Minister of Environment and Conservation, has announced the following events relative to Part 10 Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act.

ENVIRONMENTAL PREVIEW REPORT ADDENDUM SUBMITTED:

Argentia Wellhead Platform for White Rose Extension                     (Reg. 1665)
Proponent: Husky Energy

The proponent has submitted an addendum to the environmental assessment (EA) report for the White Rose Extension Project. The addendum was prepared to address the additional information requested on the EA report on March 15, 2013. Public comments regarding the document are welcome and must be received no later than May 29, 2013.

The addendum is available on the Canada-Newfoundland Offshore Petroleum Board’s
(C-NLOPB’s) website at www.cnlopb.nl.ca (CEAR 12-01-68249).

The document submitted is in response to the Environmental Preview Report required by the Minister of Environment and Conservation for the Argentia Peninsula and Placentia Bay portion of the project and screening level assessment required by the C-NLOPB on the entire project. A single harmonized environmental assessment is being conducted by the province and the C-NLOPB to fulfill the requirements of both the Environmental Protection Act and the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act.
