Supplementary Exam Registration Deadline Approaching

From November 4 to 7, the Department of Education will be offering high school students an opportunity to write supplementary exams in seven public exam courses. The deadline to register is October 25, 2013.

“For the second time this year, supplementary exams are being offered in order to provide students an opportunity to graduate or improve their academic standing,” said the Honourable Clyde Jackman, Minister of Education. “I encourage all students who have not been successful in graduating this past year to take this opportunity to improve their marks and attain a high school diploma.”

The first round of supplementary exams was held in August. This is the third consecutive year that the department has provided two opportunities for students to write supplemental public exams.

“We want to provide our youth every opportunity to take advantage of what our growing economy has to offer,” said Minister Jackman. “Without the benefit of a high school diploma, those opportunities can be limited. We must encourage our young people to stay in school, complete their diploma, and then pursue the post-secondary education or training they require in order to realize their lifelong goals.”
