Roof to be Replaced at Botwood Collegiate
A tender valued at more than $246,000 has been awarded to National Roof
Services Inc. of Lewisporte to replace the roof at Botwood Collegiate.
“It is important to invest in the upkeep of existing infrastructure to
ensure our schools remain safe environments for students and staff,” said
the Honourable Clyde Jackman, Minister of Education. “With this latest
contract, more than $1.1 million has been approved for upgrades to Botwood
Collegiate in recent years, including an extension, interior renovations and
other improvements.”
Work on the roof is expected to begin this spring.
“Botwood Collegiate is important to the region as it accommodates students
in Grades 7-12 from five area communities,” said Exploits MHA Clayton
Forsey. “Our government has made substantial investments in this facility in
recent years. This funding will allow us to maintain a safe facility for
staff to deliver quality education to students.”

new and ongoing school infrastructure projects, including more than $21.4
million for major repairs and maintenance projects.
Since 2004, about $620 million has been allocated for school infrastructure
throughout the province, including almost $220 million for more than 1,850
