Media Advisory: Education Minister Visiting Two Elementary Schools

The Honourable Clyde Jackman, Minister of Education, will be reading to students as part of events taking place tomorrow (Friday, March 22) at two area schools.

As part of the Agriculture in the Classroom program, Minister Jackman will be reading to students at St. Matthew’s Elementary school at 9:00 a.m. An initiative of the Newfoundland and Labrador Federation of Agriculture, the Agriculture in the Classroom program familiarizes school-aged children with the agriculture industry in this province, so that they develop an understanding of where food comes from, and why our food system is essential in society.

At 10:30 a.m., the minister will be among the special guests reading to students at Goulds Elementary as part the school’s Celebrity Literacy Event.
