Media Advisory: Parliamentary Secretary to Speak at Official Opening of Tower Crane Simulator

Dan Crummell, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Advanced Education and Skills, will speak at the official opening of a tower crane simulator tomorrow (Wednesday, June 26) at the Operating Engineers College, Exit 35, Salmonier Line, Holyrood. The event begins at 10:00 a.m. and will also feature various representatives from Nalcor, ExxonMobil, Chevron, Suncor, and Statoil.

The simulator is the only one of its kind in Atlantic Canada and gives students the opportunity to develop and apply the skills needed to work on the Hebron construction site or any other project within Newfoundland and Labrador.

Media are invited to view the computerized simulator and full-scale 16-tonne tower demonstration crane, which will perform a multitude of tasks.
