Media Advisory: Ministers to Discuss Construction of New Ferry for Fogo Island and Change Islands

The Honourable Tom Hedderson, Minister of Transportation and Works, will discuss the Provincial Government’s approach for replacing the MV Captain Earl W. Winsor at a news conference today (Thursday, May 3). Minister Hedderson will be joined by the Honourable Derrick Dalley, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Recreation and MHA for The Isles of Notre Dame. The news conference will take place at 12:30 p.m. at the Media Centre, Ground Floor, East Block, Confederation Building.

As previously announced through Budget 2012: People and Prosperity – Responsible Investments for a Secure Future, the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador will invest $5 million to begin the process of constructing a replacement for the MV Captain Earl W. Winsor that serves Fogo Island and Change Islands.
